About Our Academy

Noor Academy was founded out of a desire to provide meaningful Islamic and secular education that would propel the next generation to self discovery and leadership. Reaching beyond the status quo, striving to become global citizens. Noor Academy is an educational institution under the umbrella of Lighthouse Academia Group. It was established for K-12 education with a focus on cultivating scholars to actively seek out beneficial knowledge which encompasses all aspects of life that allows for spiritual, physical, academic, and intellectual growth.

The physical campus, the former J. Murray Jeffress Elementary School, is located in the town of Charlotte Court House, a historic district listed on the State of Virginia national register of historic places. It was built in 1952 for African Americans during segregation, and is also listed on the State of Virginia’s National Register of Historic buildings.

Renovation of the former J. Murray Jeffress School building provides continuity of history for a community dedicated to educating the 21st century-ready scholar. Once the renovation of the building is completed Noor Academy will service grades K-12 at its physical campus. In addition, we realize that education cannot be confined to brick and mortar, thus as an extension, our Virtual Academy is a full online school offering a complete comprehensive curriculum for 4th-12th grade. Our Virtual Program offers students the flexibility and convenience to travel, participate in sports activities, as well as for those who have unique or gifted needs, in order to achieve their highest potential.

We encourage families to work closely with the instructors, as this ensures educational success. Collaboration between home and school is an effective and necessary ingredient for academic achievement.

Through our whole scholar curriculum here at Noor Academy, each scholar will put Allah Ta'ala first, seek knowledge to learn, be driven to excel, and will become the leaders of tomorrow.

We are committed to maintaining a school atmosphere that stands firm on the principles and practices of Noor Academy’s Way which are woven into the daily life of our scholars, allowing them to build a moral and ethical compass that will give them a solid foundation to build upon.
